Sequencer: Cutscene Sample
I gave myself the challenge make a cutscene using Sequencer in one day, and this is the result!
(Art assets and animations were found on the Epic Marketplace, and sounds were sampled from freesounds.org)
Writing: Celtx
I have extensive experience in planning and writing branching narratives, especially in Celtx.
Below is an example of a complicated branching conversation I designed and wrote out for an unannounced AAA title.
Players could investigate subtopics and return to a root menu - and moved along to the critical path once they’d gained enough information.
Writing: Final Draft
“Dungeon” is a script excerpt for a D&D-style game focused on party members with their own distinct backgrounds and voices.
“Lights Out” is a sample mission script I wrote for an original game concept similar in vibe to The Last of Us - but replace the mushroom-headed zombies with overgrown Moth Creatures. I personally think moths are an untapped source in the post-apocalyptic-horror-video-game market.
Ever wonder what would happen if treasure hunter Nathan Drake (Uncharted), assassin droid HK-47 (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic), and hero-of-few-words Link (The Legend of Zelda) got stuck in an elevator together? Read on to find out!
Lore
Protip: It turns out PowerPoint has a huge library of 3D models that are, like, half-decent.
I gave myself a 30-min challenge to choose a few models and make up a story + lore descriptions for a Soulslike game, and a map of the world.
The idea: a faltering crusade of knights attempt to conquer land ruled by a powerful clan of vampires, and populated by other factions and beasts.
